Grocery list for friday
1. Dual Banjo fitting. I don’t know if they make these i might end up getting regular fittings for a Dual Carb setup. This piece connects both Carbs to the Fuel line from the fuel pump…
2. Intake Manifold Gaskets. For the tunnel Ram but i dont think we are going to put it on until we find a suitable distributor that FITS!
3. Spark Plugs. pretty self explanatary….
4. Im forgetting something… ill remember tomorrow

Well lets get you guys up to speed! I’m Cody Flowers. yes Flowers is my last name. i’ve had this 67 El Camino since i was 10 so roughly 13 years. My dad and i have worked on it alot but most of the work has been accomplished in the last year.
So Far
We’ve sectioned the rear frame 11 & 1/2 inches so we can fit some meats under the fender. Right now its got a 350 small block, gear drive, 202 heads, flat top pistons, MSD ignition and an excel fully mechanical distributor. We also have a Tunnel Ram and a pair of holley 450’s for it but there lys the problem, the tunnel ram/carborators and our distributor have a clearance issue… we had a single carb intake with two other holley 650’s and a vacume advance distributor but both carbs had flats spots… engine craped all over itself, but only when the floats weren’t sticking wide open.
lately i performed my first section job on the transmission crossmember. The transmission is an old T10 off a Ford. Most transmissions are between what 26 to 29 inches long?…This tranny is 39 inches long its a four speed with overdrive! With that lowering the tranny a good 2” i relieve the header issue and the shifter rod issues!i also took the shifter off and completely disassembled it. ten years of bad weather in a vehical with many cab leaks turned a golden shifter to a rusty shifter.
Next is to fabricate a reverse linkage rod and an overdrive lever. This transmission is fuckin wierd! it has a lever that has to be engaged and it also has an electric solenoid that engages it when you pump the throttle… i’ve never heard of it but my pop says its a strong ass tran..
As you can see the cabin is damn near empty! but soon as shifter is complete i have a tranny hump to weld back into place. Then comes the fun part i get to POR (paint over rust) the whole floor board and patch i few weak spots. But beore that i really need to find out how to remove the front glass. Both bottom corners of the windshield leak and it would be easier to por the top of the dash as well.
i have the master cylinder and brake booster, they just need to be mounted. The lines are already ran through the frame just need to get the flex line and run it to the drums and calipers.
I have a couple wire harness’ i need to figure out with one is in better condition….
Well the list goes on and on but atleast i have a starting place for you guys!
Feel free to ask questions on anything i’ve done or said!
